5 Quick Poses for Your Everyday Photos

So you can stop wasting time trying to get the perfect photo, and instead pose quickly and confidently!


Picture this: It's the weekend, and you're out on an Insta-worthy adventure. Maybe it's brunch with friends, a hot date, or a cute picnic with your family. But disaster strikes - someone pulls out their phone to take a photo!


Do you say:

"Can you take another one? Just one more I promise!"

"Wait, were we taking a photo? I wasn't ready!"

or "Ugh I look weird, oh well, that's not going to change!"


I used to be guilty of saying the last one!


Have you ever felt like you're wasting more time trying to take a photo of an experience, than actually, you know, experiencing it?

Or worse, that you can just never look good in photos?


I promise you, it doesn't have to be this way!


Let me show you 5 easy poses that you can use in your everyday photos! Not only will you finally have photos that you can't wait to post and share, but you'll be able to capture them quickly and confidently - so you can get back to enjoying whatever it is that was worth taking a photo of!


Pose 1: Sway


Want minimal effort and maximum shape? Check out this pose!

  1. Step one foot to the side

  2. Lean on the other foot and push your hip out

  3. Place your hands on your thighs, then bring them up slightly and put your elbows back to create space between your arms and body

Done!


Pose 2: Triangles


Want to slim down the sway pose? Try this one out!


  1. Step one foot forward, or tip toe one foot

  2. Shift your weight on to your back leg and push your hip out

  3. Place your hands on your thighs, then bring them up slightly and put your elbows back to create space between your arms and body

Nailed it!


Pose 3: Covergirl


Have some fun with this one! This can either be a really glamourous pose, or fun and teasing, depending on your expression!

  1. Tip toe on one foot, bring your knee inwards

  2. Shift your weight on to your other foot and push your hip out

  3. Hands on your waist (thumbs on the sides of your body) and curl your shoulders in

Magazine ready!


Pose 4: Clasp


There's definitely a "cute" energy in this pose!

  1. Tip toe on one foot, bring your knee inwards

  2. Shift your weight on to your other foot and push your hip out

  3. Bring your elbows away from your body and gently bring your hands together in front of your stomach

Have something in your hands, wine or a purse etc? Place both hands on the item and bring it to the middle!


Pose 5: Classic


I call this one the classic pose because it's definitely my go to!


  1. Step one foot forward, or tip toe one foot and bring your knee in

  2. Shift your weight on to your other foot and push your hip out

  3. Place one hand on your waist with your thumb on your side and place the other hand gently on your thigh and bring it up slightly, creating space between your arm and your body.

Perfect!


Bonus Tips!


A few things to remember no matter what pose you try:

  1. Place your chin forward and down to create a flattering face shape

  2. Put the camera at eye height or higher

  3. Move around - try tilting your head different ways, or facing side on to the camera

And most importantly - HAVE FUN! Posing isn't about being stiff and perfect, it's about flattering your body so you feel confident in your photographs!
